Location Tampa, FL
Your Primary Responsibilities
Develop structural calculations and produce engineering drawings for both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects related to bridge and transportation structures.
Perform and direct engineering alternatives investigations through data collection and analysis, performing calculations, and evaluating alternate solutions.
Prepare written technical reports.
Support construction phase of projects, including responding to RFIs, review of shop drawings, problem solving, etc.
Train and mentor junior engineers.
What you'll need
Bachelor of Science from an ABET-accredited university in Civil or Structural Engineering
Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer
0 – 5 years post-PE registration structural engineering experience
4+ years of relevant bridge design and plans production experience, including reinforced concrete bridges, prestressed/post-tensioned concrete bridges, steel plate and box girder bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, sign/signal structures, sound barrier walls, and other transportation-related structures
Experience using bridge design software (e.g., FB Multi-Pier, Leap Bridge Concrete, SmartBridge, LARSA, CSI, STAAD, MDX, Shoring Suite, Atlas, and FDOT tools)
Proficiency in MicroStation, GEOPAK, OpenBridge Modeler, AutoCAD and/or other CADD platforms
Ability to do 3D modeling in OpenBridge Modeler is a plus
Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
Ability to guide junior staff and participate in the design and detailing of small- to large-scale multi-discipline bridge projects
Construction specialty engineering experience is a plus
Experience with post-tensioning applications is a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and time management skills
Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history
Preferred Qualifications
Masters (MSE/MSCE) in Civil/Structural Engineering
PE and/or SE certification in Florida or the ability to obtain Florida Registration
Familiarity with structural/bridge design processes through the FDOT Structures Manual and FDOT Construction Specifications
