Senior PCB Layout Designer
to join our dynamic and talented team. In this senior-level role, you will ensure the continued successful operation and enhancement of complex electronic products, including wireless microphone systems. You will translate circuit designs into functional and manufacturable PCB layouts, ensuring optimal performance, signal integrity, and adherence to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Translating Schematics : Take the schematic diagram created by a design engineer and transform it into a physical layout on the PCB.
Trace Routing : Design the conductive pathways (traces) that connect the components, ensuring proper signal routing, minimizing noise, and adhering to design rules.
Design Reviews : Participate in design reviews, collaborating with RF, electrical, mechanical, and sustaining engineers to ensure designs meet all requirements.
Constraint Management : Manage design rules and constraints related to electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing requirements.
Manufacturing Considerations : Understand manufacturability and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles to ensure the PCB can be efficiently produced.
Documentation : Create and maintain documentation for the PCB layout, including Gerber files, which are used by manufacturers to produce the board.
Signal Integrity : Consider and address signal integrity issues that can arise from high-speed signals and complex layouts.
Software Proficiency : Utilize specialized PCB design software such as Mentor Graphics PADS, Altium Designer, or Cadence OrCAD.
Skills and Qualifications
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit design, and PCB fabrication processes.
Expertise in PCB design software.
Experience with RF layout techniques and considerations.
Ability to analyze and solve complex design challenges.
Knowledge of IPC standards for PCB design and manufacturing.
Effective communication with team members.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Precision and accuracy with PCB layout.
Education and Training
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field is a plus.
3+ years of experience required; 5+ years preferred.
