Arlington, TX Contract On-Site Flexibility/Remote: 50%
This position will support the Program production and development activities related to tooling and will involve design, procurement, internal manufacturing build, proposal, maintenance, supplier and production floor visits, defining/leading the path forward for the new group, and any other program related activity regarding tooling. The position requires frequent communication and collaboration with people located across the United States including other Manufacturing Engineers as well as other functions including Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, Quality Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Production Planning and Control, Contracts, and Program Management.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors of Science in an engineering or technical field
Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications, and other systems integration technical data
5+ years experience in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
5+ years experience with Pro-E/Creo/Windchill or other CAD system
Knowledge of ASME Y14.5
5+ years experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Ability to travel domestically
Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration
Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing, and presentations
Desired Skills
Has DoD Secret or above clearance
Ability to travel internationally
Masters degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering preferred
Experience with tooling
Knowledge of manufacturing and processes
Knowledge of drawing release process
Experience of Model Computer Aided Design (MCAD) process
Experience with Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing
Experience with SAP
Experience with Property Management
Experience in design for manufacturing
Experience in machining, welding, and castings
Demonstrated ability to evaluate the design activities and implementation of production process methodology to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
Demonstrated mechanical design, analysis, and test experience
Proven ability to improve cost, schedule, quality, and/or safety
