Weekend Echocardiograph Technologist

to join our team at MedStar Franklin Square. The Echocardiograph Technologist will perform echocardiography studies, Holter scans, and exercise stress tests. They will also assist in implementing protocols and procedures. Accurately complete all departmental and MedStar Health billing requirements promptly, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of patient data prior to billing and interpretation. Maintain relevant statistics and assist in managing cardiology supply inventories. Prepare for testing procedures and assist with scheduling and clarifying testing requests. Communicate test information to patients and families, explaining procedures prior to testing. Perform hookup procedures and analysis for Holter monitors, cardiac event recorders, and Zio Patch units, ensuring accurate lead placement and calibration. Clean and disinfect cardiology equipment following departmental protocols. Conduct stress echocardiography, including imaging and Doppler, and perform EKGs and blood pressure measurements during procedures, following departmental protocols. Monitor patient safety and condition, documenting cardiac abnormalities as needed. Perform technically competent EKG tracings with all required patient information, ensuring accurate lead placement and data entry. Transmit EKGs into the MUSE system and prepare tracings for physician review. Perform transesophageal and transthoracic echocardiographic imaging and Doppler procedures, obtaining and recording optimal images, flow, signals, measurements, and calculations. Identify and document cardiac abnormalities related to patient symptoms or diagnoses. Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. At least 6 months of echocardiography practice and performance of a minimum of 100 echocardiogram/doppler examinations. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or registry-eligible in Cardiovascular Technology from ARDMS. Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from CCI or CRCS from CARDUP within 1 year of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits meeting IAC-Echo standards. Completion of an ultrasound or cardiovascular technology program, including verified didactic coursework. Supervised clinical experience in echocardiography preferred. Arrhythmia analysis experience preferred. This position offers a hiring range of $34.98 - $62.52.
