In this position, you will evaluate and determine client eligibility for vocational rehabilitation services, approve individualized employment plans, and authorize case closures. You will provide counseling and guidance to clients with disabilities to help them identify career goals, overcome barriers, and achieve meaningful employment. The role involves interpreting assessments to determine each client’s strengths, abilities, and rehabilitation needs while developing and implementing effective service strategies. You will also approve and monitor services such as assistive technology, medical or psychological evaluations, and training or placement supports in accordance with federal regulations. Additionally, you will collaborate with schools, employers, and community partners to coordinate services, promote program awareness, and support successful employment outcomes for clients with disabilities. Qualifications
Psychology: Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and theories of human behavior and performance in various contexts, mental processes, or the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Customer Service: Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, or satisfy expectations. Interpersonal Skills: Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness to others; develops and maintains effective relationships. Oral Communication: Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information. Teamwork: Encourages and facilitates cooperation, pride, trust, and group identity; works with others to achieve goals. Education & Levels
Level 1: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and one year of paraprofessional or professional experience providing social assistance services to people with disabilities. Level 2: Master’s degree from an accredited college in vocational rehabilitation, psychology, social work, guidance counseling, or a related discipline. Level 3: Certification in Rehabilitation Counseling (CRC) from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. Benefits & Working Environment
