Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor 1/2/3
(PCN 05-2129) located in Juneau, AK. This position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a Range 15/17/19. This recruitment is exempt from the Hiring Freeze (Administrative Order 358). ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS! The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, is recruiting for a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor 1/2/3 located in Juneau. What You Will Be Doing: Provide vocational rehabilitation counseling to consumers with disabilities by assisting them in obtaining and maintaining competitive, integrated employment. You will actively work with employers to develop relationships to provide employment opportunities for consumers of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. You will be working with a dedicated team of professionals who are committed to assisting individuals with disabilities obtain employment. The working environment is located in the Juneau Branch Office with approximately ten to twelve employees; telework may be available. Regular business hours are 8am – 5pm, with flexibility for scheduling and autonomy in day-to-day work. Minimum Qualifications
Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Level 1: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and one year of paraprofessional or professional experience providing social assistance services to people with disabilities. Substitution: graduate education from an accredited college in vocational rehabilitation, psychology, social work, guidance counseling, special education, or related discipline may substitute for the required experience (2 semester/3 quarter hours equal one month). Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Level 2: A master’s degree from an accredited college in vocational rehabilitation, psychology, social work, guidance counseling, special education, or related discipline. Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Level 3: A Certification in Rehabilitation Counseling (CRC) from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.
