General summary: Under the direction of the Director, Facilities & Engineering, the engineering personnel are expected to perform at a high level of competency in preventive maintenance and repair of the facility. These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, in accordance with the mission, values and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and guests. Responsibilities
Work across trade disciplines including rodding of sewer lines, painting, plastering, pulling electrical wiring, conduit bending, and light bulb replacement. Perform lock repair, translogic tube system repair and maintenance, welding, brazing, torch cutting, pump installations, heat exchanger maintenance, roof drains, and storm drains as directed by immediate supervisor. Perform timely repair and preventive maintenance on laundry and kitchen equipment; oiling and lubrication of facility motors; replacement of fan belts, conveyors and facility compactor preventive maintenance. Conduct building roof inspections, inspect all process pumps and controls; coil cleaning of rooftop heating and cooling units, including satellite facilities. Fire alarm drills and device testing; weekly emergency generator testing; repair and maintenance of translogic tube system; repair and maintenance to nurse call stations. Seasonal snow removal and salting of walks and lots; exterior debris cleanup and trash removal on a weekly basis or as directed. Relamping and ballast replacement. Required knowledge, skills and abilities
High school diploma required. Two to four years of experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance; trade school certificate preferred. Strong aptitude for motors, pulleys, drives, transmission units, and gearboxes; ability to interpret building drawings and schematic diagrams. Documented certificate of completion from a reputable vocational/trade school in maintenance applications and theory preferred. Benefits
