Read more at www.dsv.com Location: USA - Lancaster, 3701 Midpoint Drive Division: Solutions Job Posting Title: Supervisor, Operations (2nd Shift) - 100273 Time Type: Full Time POSITION SUMMARY The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising, labor management, and planning of inbound, outbound, product slotting and customer communication activities daily, including labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and resolving problems. Under the direction of the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for supervising the receiving, warehousing and shipping of products in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. As part of the DSV team, associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality, and to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan and assure continuous improvement.

Effectively keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect the operations.

Develop systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment and products safely and profitably in accordance with company policies. Manage operations to meet productivity and service goals and comply with the site's operating agreement with the client.

Implement and report ongoing cost savings measures. Provide ideas for more efficient operations.

Meet all client-specified KPIs and comply with quality system requirements.

Manage operations to achieve objectives. Apply communication and motivational techniques; supervise, counsel, and, where needed, discipline team members. Provide direction and support to Human Resources. Assist in hiring, training and professional development programs. Participate in the performance evaluation system for promotions, wage increases, and other HR activities.

Oversee training and evaluation of warehouse staff.

Plan daily work schedules by reviewing work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions. Assess priorities based on time sensitivity and resources; assign duties to warehouse staff.

Review pending jobs or trends, plan for reorganization of warehouse space, and adjust supplies, equipment, or staffing levels as needed.

Train new staff or delegate training responsibility to experienced team members. Assess progress and assign additional duties as appropriate.

Monitor quantity and quality of jobs daily, providing guidance as necessary.

Assign supervisory duties to experienced team members acting as leads; monitor progress and issues.

Keep the Manager informed of progress or problems daily. Hold regular meetings with warehouse staff and discuss ideas for improvement. Communicate new developments to staff.

Assist in physical operations as needed.

Deliver results by leveraging the right people at the right time.

Maintain motivation to provide high levels of customer satisfaction.

Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members. Conduct annual performance reviews and provide input for HR actions.

Support adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and train team members in SOP requirements (corporate and client).

SKILLS & ABILITIES Education & Experience: Must have a High School diploma or GED.

3 years of experience in a logistics/distribution environment.

1 year of supervisory experience.

Preferred: Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Language Skills English (reading, writing, verbal)

Business communication

Mathematical Skills Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities, count inventory, and perform duties related to handling, storing and distributing client products.

Other Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy; able to accomplish tasks timely.

Good organizational, personnel and leadership skills; strong communication skills (written and oral).

Able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as required by the operation.

Cross-training to support multiple areas/departments; able to back up as needed.

Adaptable to change and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Overtime may be required, either mandatory or voluntary.

Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures varying with seasons.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasionally bend; Frequently walk and stand; Constantly sit. Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 1-20 pounds. Reach above shoulder, squat or kneel as required.
