Day Program Assistant at Day Social Services
Compass Housing Alliance is looking for a Day Program Assistant to observe, record, and respond to the comings and goings of guests/residents/participants and maintain a safe and comfortable environment. This unionized position is represented by Local 8 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU).
Responsibilities
Observe, record, and respond as needed to the comings and goings of guests/residents/participants and staff.
Maintain a safe and comfortable environment and respond to issues as appropriate.
Serve as a member of the program services team and support the team to serve the community by providing trauma‑informed assistance.
Work with the Program Coordinator and provide support to the day services center.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience in a social/human service setting (preferred).
Awareness and/or training around belonging, compassion, and meeting people where they are (preferred).
Familiarity with housing instability, mental health, substance use, sexual assault, domestic violence topics (preferred).
Experience working in an environment where language may be a barrier (preferred).
Current WA State Food Handlers Permit preferred (will be sponsored within 1-month of hire if not current).
Passion for knowledge and drive for continuing professional development; a related degree would complement required experience.

Employment Details
Location: Pioneer Square Neighborhood, Seattle, WA
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm & 3rd Saturday 8am-12pm; weekly staff meetings Thursday 1pm
Meal period: 30-minute pay
Salary: $24.50 per hour (Level 1); Level 2: 2.5% increase after consecutive year of employment
FLSA status: Non-Exempt
