San Diego’s St. Paul’s PACE program (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly). This innovative program is for individuals 55 years or older, who are living with chronic illness or disabilities and need coordinated medical care to continue living as independently as possible in their home and community. The healthcare teams at St. Paul’s PACE provide a hands-on approach coordinating medical, social, and home care services so individuals no longer need to manage their medical care alone. Job Summary
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Records Coordinator to join our skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate and comprehensive medical records for our residents. This role is critical to ensuring that our healthcare team has the necessary information to provide the highest level of care. Key Responsibilities
Record Management: Organize, manage, and maintain resident medical records in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Data Entry: Accurately input resident information into the electronic medical records (EMR) system. Compliance: Ensure all medical records are in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Quality Assurance: Regularly review records for completeness and accuracy, and work with healthcare staff to correct any discrepancies. Coordination: Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to obtain necessary documentation. Reporting: Generate and distribute reports as required by facility management or external agencies. Archiving: Properly archive and maintain historical medical records. Audits: Prepare for and assist in internal and external audits of medical records. Training: Provide training and support to staff on proper medical record documentation and procedures. Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred. Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical records management, preferably in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting. Certification:
RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or similar certification preferred. Skills
Proficiency in electronic medical records systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. St. Paul’s Benefits
