Senior Director of Corporate Purchasing Position Summary:
The Director of Indirect Purchasing is responsible for leading and developing the indirect procurement strategy, overseeing the acquisition of non-production goods and services across the organization. This role drives value creation through strategic sourcing, vendor management, and process optimization while ensuring alignment with company objectives and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute comprehensive indirect procurement strategies that optimize spend, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency Lead and mentor a team of 8 Indirect procurement professionals Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders across all business units Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and systems Negotiate complex contracts and manage strategic supplier relationships Analyze market trends, conduct spend analysis, and identify opportunities for cost savings Implement and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices Oversee the development and execution of category management strategies Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and savings targets Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field 10+ years of procurement experience in a multi-plant manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in leadership roles Proven track record in managing large-scale indirect procurement programs Strong understanding of procurement systems and technologies Excellence in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills Outstanding leadership and team development capabilities Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Business Administration or related field Professional certification (CPSM, CPM, or similar) Experience with e-procurement systems and digital transformation initiatives Knowledge of global sourcing practices and supplier markets Strategic thinking and planning Strong business acumen Excellent communication and presentation skills Problem-solving and decision-making abilities Relationship building and stakeholder management Cross-functional team leadership Travel Requirements: Up to 25% domestic and international travel may be required Physical Requirements: Primarily office-based work environment Ability to use standard office equipment and technology Who We Are At Ashley, we’re more than a business…we’re family.
