Provides oversight to student residents within the residential hall complexes. Coordinates community and student development through student advisement and counseling, crisis intervention, programming, discipline and training. Interprets and implements housing policy, oversees the living-learning community housed in residence halls and maintains daily contact with students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities
Coordinate the daily operation of a residence hall complex, including student advisement, counseling, crisis intervention, programming, discipline, and the training and supervision of Graduate Assistants, Resident Assistants, Desk Assistants, and other student staff. Access housing records and files for current and previous residents; may access other University records if necessary. Assist with departmental projects, committees, and service on University committees as assigned. Interpret and implement housing policy to staff, students, and the community; recommend new policies or changes to the Director. Interpret Housing and University procedures in the role of University Conduct Hearing Administrator. Manage day-to-day housing complex operations, front desk, staff, programs, and services. Maintain daily contact with students, faculty, and staff; serve as primary reference for parental concerns; refer students of concern to appropriate resources and follow up to support student success. Manage an assigned budget; act as University card user for departmental transactions; adhere to University credit card policies; purchase for the department using the University P-card. Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call duty rotation during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed; notify supervisor of emergencies and unusual occurrences. Oversee living-learning communities within the building; Serve as liaison to maintenance staff; report student and facility issues and ensure issues are resolved. Support departmental projects and committees as assigned; participate in university committees as needed. Perform essential duties during emergencies (e.g., hurricanes, public health emergencies) and be available to report to work during university emergency closings as required. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. Desired Qualifications Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration or other related field preferred. Experience in Housing and Residential Life.
