Position Summary Watchmaker Genomics is inviting applications for the full-time position of

Commercial Operations Specialist – Technical Product Owner , based in Boulder, Colorado (onsite) or remote.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and plays a key role in optimizing commercial operations. This role will serve as the technical product owner of Salesforce CRM (SFDC) and be responsible for driving data integrity, reporting, analytics, and process improvement initiatives. The position will work cross-functionally to ensure Salesforce and related commercial systems effectively support the company’s growth.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical product owner for Salesforce CRM, including system administration, customization, workflow optimization, and user adoption.

Ensure data integrity across Salesforce and integrated systems, establishing best practices for consistent, accurate, and reliable data management.

Develop and standardize sales reporting, analytics, and forecasting to provide actionable insights to sales leadership and commercial teams.

Design and implement dashboards and reports that track key commercial KPIs.

Partner with IT to manage integrations between CRM (Salesforce) and ERP systems to ensure seamless data flow and cross-platform reporting.

Troubleshoot ERP/CRM data issues and coordinate resolutions to minimize impact on sales operations.

Support pipeline management and deal flow optimization by implementing CRM best practices and automation.

Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and process improvements to streamline commercial workflows.

Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Technical Support, Product Management, and IT to align reporting and strategic initiatives.

Provide user training, resources, and support to ensure successful Salesforce adoption across the commercial organization.

Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting by delivering accurate sales forecasts, market trend analysis, and customer insights.

Skills and Requirements The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of experience in sales operations, commercial analytics, or related roles. Experience in biotech, life sciences, and start-up environments is highly desirable.

The following skills and experience are requirements for the position:

Strong experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, including customization, analytics, and user training.

Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.

Demonstrated track record of process improvement and driving operational efficiencies.

Ability to multitask, perform consistently under pressure, and meet deadlines.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interface across multiple departments.

Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of independent decision-making.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field required.

MBA or advanced degree preferred.

8-10 years experience in sales operations or commercial analytics.

Compensation The base compensation for the Commercial Operations Specialist role starts at $100,000-$130,000 + bonus + equity; actual pay will be adjusted based on skills and experience. Employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off and holidays, employer covers 75% of the base medical plan with buy-up options, EAP (employee assistance program), employer-paid dental, employer-paid vision, employer-paid $25,000 life/AD&D policy, paid parental leave, and a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% match.
