Yes Responsibilities
Direct, manage, and participate in division and Institute activities. Direct all division governmental training programs of the Institute. Manage, monitor and evaluate all leadership development, financial management, and online certification and certificate programs for state and local government elected officials and staff in Georgia. Manage, monitor and evaluate all leadership development, financial management, and online certification and certificate programs for state and local government appointed practitioners in Georgia. Develop training programs and related materials, instructor manuals, and other instructional aids. Coordinate all state and local government leadership development, financial management, and online training education, service requests and delivery. Manage contract administration and all financial management operations for the division. Supervise, coach and develop all division faculty, staff, part-time instructors, and consultants. Support Institute delivery of technical assistance and other services to state and local government in Georgia. Establish and maintain relationships with state agency executives and leadership, county and municipal associations, and professional associations. Participate with professional development organizations; collaborate with faculty and staff to complete projects and achieve goals. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in Public Administration or related field is required. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification:
Master’s degree in Public Administration or related field is required; a similar terminal degree is preferred. The position requires strong knowledge and extensive (10+ years) experience in governmental training and education and a distinguished record at the executive level in local or state government. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of state and local government structure, functions, and operations. Knowledge of current and emerging trends and challenges in Georgia. Ability to apply adult learning technologies in training delivery. Ability to develop curricula and educational materials appropriate for users. Ability to manage budgets for contracts or grants and for the division’s operations. Ability to manage complex long-term projects and client relationships. Strong initiative and independent work capability. Creative problem-solving abilities. Advanced communications skills (verbal and written) for diverse audiences. Advanced marketing and business development skills. Ability to set priorities, organize, delegate, and supervise. Strong administrative and supervisory capabilities; ability to coach and engage staff. Preferred Competencies:
Knowledge of Georgia local/state government structure and program development, curriculum design, instruction, and service delivery; experience leading teams and managing finances; background in contract/grant development and management. Additional Requirements
The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Public Service Assistant, Public Service Associate, or Senior Public Service Associate. Physical Demands
Office setting with extensive travel within the state and some out-of-state travel. Security and Compliance
