Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Long Term Care Registered Nurse for a 26‑week travel assignment in Alma, Nebraska. Required Qualifications
One year of recent experience as an RN in a long‑term care setting
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS (AHA/ARC) or CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
ACLS certification
Other certifications may be required depending on facility requirements
Summary A Registered Nurse (RN) in a long‑term care (LTC) facility provides skilled nursing care to residents, ensures their health, comfort, and well‑being, oversees patient care plans, administers treatments, monitors for changes in condition, collaborates with the healthcare team, and ensures compliance with regulations.
Essential Work Functions
Assess patient or resident health, monitor for changes, and take appropriate action.
Develop, update, and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the care team.
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
Observe residents for medication reactions or changes in condition and report concerns to the provider.
Provide treatments including wound care, IV therapy, catheter management, and other skilled procedures within scope.
Supervise and support LPNs and CNAs, delegating appropriately and ensuring quality care.
Educate residents and families on medications, treatments, and chronic condition management.
Document care provided, resident progress, and any health changes in a timely manner.
Respond quickly to emergencies, delivering critical care and coordinating with medical teams when needed.
Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other professionals to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care.
Perform other duties as assigned within scope.
Adhere to facility safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
The ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
Physical abilities – stationary position, move equipment (50‑100lbs), push, pull, bend.
Interpersonal skills – work effectively with various personnel, positive attitude, professionalism.
Technical/motor skills – fine manipulation, push/pull, movement during procedures.
Mental requirements – cope with frequent contact with the public, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision or independently, manage irregular schedules, focus on detail.
Sensory – visual acuity and effective communication.
