Simulation Specialist (Multiple Openings) - College of Nursing
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Job Type: Regular / Full-Time
Responsibilities
Responsible for the selection, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of patient simulators and providing appropriate patient scenarios that can objectively measure student competency on various skills and abilities for the College of Nursing.
Maintain the center at the highest possible readiness level by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on high‑fidelity patient simulators and other medical equipment as directed by manufacturer support.
Interface with simulation companies' technical support regarding equipment troubleshooting and system problems; maintain records of repairs and maintenance of the equipment.
Master operation of simulator technologies by participating in conferences, workshops, and/or technical training as necessary.
Provide training and/or demonstration sessions for students, faculty, and staff regarding the utilization of computer equipment and high‑fidelity simulators.
Identify opportunities for technology improvement and integration into healthcare education.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the medical simulation capture system; record scenario sessions and manage data storage organization.
Set up the projection of live and stored scenario sessions into debriefing rooms and other instructional spaces.
Coordinate with faculty and others to plan and provide patient simulator training for various populations.
Teach faculty and others the proper use of simulators, including start‑up and shut‑down processes.
Collaborate with administration, faculty, staff, and potential funders to demonstrate the various uses of the simulation center.
Perform other duties as assigned by the simulation program director and/or the Dean.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to eight years. (Note: appropriate post‑high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
