We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical design and drafting, capable of developing detailed designs, layouts, and schematics for electrical systems and substations. This role requires hands‑on expertise in AutoCAD, AVEVA/E3D, and a solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Key Responsibilities Design
Apply the current version of the National Electrical Code (NEC) in all designs.
Perform sizing of wire, conduit, and cable trays.
Create cable tray/conduit routing layouts, power plans, lighting, grounding, and heat tracing plans.
Perform fill calculations for cable trays and conduits.
Size overcurrent protection for lighting and low‑voltage MCCs.
Develop MCC, panel board, and heat tracing schedules.
Prepare 480V one‑line diagrams and motor control schematics.
Perform lighting level calculations.
Generate electrical bulk material schedules and MTOs.
Design substations, including layouts and elevation plans.
Create transformer yard and bus duct layouts.
Integrate electrical equipment layouts and substations into overall plot plans and 3D models.
Develop electrical installation details from vendor drawings and documentation.
Attend substation fabrication shops to inspect and verify wiring methods and equipment assembly.
Conduct site surveys of customer facilities for layout, installation drawings, and as‑built documentation.
Drafting
Produce 2D electrical detail drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and AVEVA/E3D.
Create to‑scale substation layouts and elevation drawings.
Integrate substation layouts, electrical equipment layouts, cable tray layouts, power plans, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection into overall plot plans and 3D models.
Develop 2D installation details and sections.
Prepare IFD (Issued for Design), IFC (Issued for Construction), and as‑built drawing packages in accordance with company standards.
Skills and Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer‑Aided Drafting Technology, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 10 years of electrical design and drafting experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, NavisWorks, and AVEVA/E3D.
Experience in designing prefabricated substations and modular equipment is preferred.
Experience in an EPC environment is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
