Overview
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Mechanical Design Engineer in Fort Worth. The candidate will apply technical expertise in the design of mechanism detail parts, assemblies, and installations for LM ADP and F35 aircrafts.
Responsibilities
Development of kinematic models and mechanism layouts
Detail design of machined and composite parts
Develop sweep models and rigging procedures for mechanisms
Release drawing and 3D annotation
Development, test, and validation of mechanical designs
Creation and/or modification of primary and secondary structure with 3-D models, assemblies, and installations
Creation and/or modification of system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures, statements of work, trade studies, and component/ground/flight test plans
Technical engineering support for manufacturing, installation, and testing at Lockheed Martin and external supplier facilities
Conducting trade studies and evaluating alternatives to optimize form, fit, and function of aircraft mechanical systems
Design, develop, and finalization of structural and mechanical layouts with systems interfaces
Assist Program Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customers with all mechanism-related issues for in-flight and ground operations
Qualifications
3+ years of professional experience (level 3) required
Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical; Civil Engineers will also be considered
Experience with 3DX, CATIA, Solidworks, Pro/Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX, or equivalent CAD tools
Security This position is located at a facility that requires special access, and an Interim Secret clearance is required to start.

Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical; Civil Engineers will also be considered
Experience with 3DX, CATIA, Solidworks, Pro/Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX, or equivalent CAD tool
Desired Skills
Skunkworks and F35 program experience
Aircraft mechanism design experience (in-flight opening doors, push rods, torque tubes, uplocks and mechanism rigging)
Kinematics experience (degrees of freedom, four bars, mechanical advantage, kinematic modeling)
Machined and composite part detailed design experience
CATIA V5 and 3DX experience
Experience with metallic and composite design
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment
