The PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency program at Baystate Medical Center offers a high-quality, in-depth learning environment in which pharmacists can build upon their PGY1 pharmacy practice skills and develop accountability, practice patterns and habits, in addition to expert knowledge, skills, attitudes and abilities in the advanced area of Emergency Medicine.
Training within our busy ED, which sees 122,000+ patients per year, focuses on developing your ability to manage a range of disease states and disorders that present to the emergency department. The program consists of rotation blocks concentrating on the multiple aspects of emergency medicine pharmacy practice, including pediatrics, with additional required learning experiences in the medical and surgical ICUs along with elective rotation opportunities in various areas. The flexibility within the program allows for customization to accommodate your knowledge, skills, abilities, interests and career goals. You can expect to graduate equipped to be a fully integrated member of an emergency medicine interdisciplinary team and able to make complex medication related decisions within the fast-paced environment of the emergency department.

Applications must be submitted through PhoRCAS.All PhoRCAS applications must include the following: College of Pharmacy transcript, 3 references completed using the PhoRCAS reference form, Letter of Intent, and Curriculum Vitae. The requirements for acceptance include: eligibility for pharmacist licensure in Massachusetts, anticipated completion of ASHP-accreditedPGY1 Pharmacy Residency, PharmD degree, and application submission by deadline.
