12 Purpose of Position Responsible for project management including planning, monitoring and reporting of strategic, high profile technical projects. Assist with the development of the Project Management Office, establishing policies and procedures for project management and change management for the organization. Primary Responsibilities Manage multiple high priority, large scale projects through the entire project life cycle Work with project team members and leadership of relevant areas to develop project plans Understand and process project requirements / technical and operational specifications of projects Direct, monitor, and report on project activity (e.g. tasks, milestones, deadlines, resource allocations, budget) Coordinate and communicate between resources, departments, and stakeholders on project progress Facilitate project status meetings and conduct project discussions Identify and address scope creep, change order requests, and project delays in a timely and appropriate manner Monitor and maintain project hours and budgets Identify project risks and develops contingency or alternative plans Additional Responsibilities Establish project management standards and provide support and mentoring to other project managers Identify and implement project process improvements Drive adherence to project management standards Perform audits of projects to ensure compliance Foster a work environment based on cooperation, team-building, and professionalism Actively pursue continuous growth and development of technical and project management expertise Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required and 5 years of experience in project management. No specific major is required, but one in a business/project management field preferred. Experience with technical project implementation and project management methodologies is essential for the success of this position. Demonstrable proficiency in managing mid-to-large-scale projects such as system implementations, hardware or software deployments, and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) migrations. Experience managing ERP implementation or migration projects with SAP or Workday is preferred. Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies preferred. Experience in the Higher Education environment is preferred, but not required. PMI’s PMP certification is preferred, but not required.
