Overview
Position: Bid Manager at Target Hospitality. Location: Spring, TX. Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented
Bid Manager
to lead the end-to-end bidding process for construction projects. This role is critical in securing new business and maintaining long-term client relationships. The Bid Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams—including estimators, engineers, legal, and commercial leads—to develop competitive, compliant, and compelling bids that align with client expectations and company goals. Key Responsibilities Bid Strategy & Capture Planning Identify and assess bid opportunities in collaboration with business development and preconstruction teams
Lead capture planning and define win strategies tailored to each project
Team Assembly & Coordination Build and manage bid teams including estimators, project managers, design consultants, and subcontractors
Facilitate bid kickoff meetings, progress reviews, and post-submission debriefs
Technical & Commercial Oversight Collaborate with estimators and engineers to refine construction methodologies and value engineering options
Finalize commercial terms, pricing strategies, and risk assessments
Compliance & Documentation Ensure bid submissions meet all regulatory, safety, and contractual requirements
Oversee the preparation of bid documentation, including schedules, scope narratives, and compliance checklists
Client Engagement & Negotiation Serve as the primary point of contact with clients throughout the bid process
Manage clarifications
Performance Tracking & Continuous Improvement Analyze bid outcomes and extract lessons learned to improve future submissions
Lead strategies for contract renewals and long-term client retention
Required Skills & Qualifications Proven experience managing bids in commercial, modular, or infrastructure construction projects
Strong understanding of construction processes, estimating, and contract structures (e.g., Design-Build, CMAR, Lump Sum)
Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination skills
Proficiency in budgeting, risk analysis, and negotiation
Familiarity with construction bidding platforms and document control systems
Collaboration
The Bid Manager works closely with Proposal Managers, Estimators, and Project Executives to ensure each submission reflects a compelling strategy, accurate pricing, and a clear understanding of client needs.
