(RP) ASIC Functional Safety Engineer

The ASIC Functional Safety Engineer reports to the Chief Engineer of the Semiconductor Core Development group, a global team responsible for worldwide development of microcontroller and ASICs.
This is not a contract position, but a full-time, permanent job with a great salary and benefit package.
You will be responsible for ensuring that ASICs and ASSPs (Application Specific Standard Products) for use in Electronic Braking Control, Airbag, Electric Power Steering, and Driver Assist Systems (Radar and Camera) are developed according to ISO26262.
Responsibilities
Define system architectures with focus on microcontrollers and ASICs Develop technical safety concepts Develop safety work plans and ensure timely completion of deliverables internally and at suppliers Agree DIA (Development Interface Agreements) with suppliers Develop single point and latent point fault metrics and dependent failure analyses Ensure verification of ASICs against safety requirements Present and defend safety concept and process to customers and auditors Apply best practices across product lines Implement and maintain a world-class global functional safety process for ASICs Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Systems, Computer, or Software Engineering required. Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. 5 + years of working at Tier 1 or 2 supplier or OEM with knowledge of the functional safety standard ISO 26262 and experience in its practical application in product development Experience in electronics/ systems/ software design and development Experience in mixed signal ASIC development/ design is highly desired Highly self motivated and able to work with little direct oversight in a collaborative environment Strong program management and communication/networking skills Experience managing subcontracted engineering resources (e.g. for analysis and verification work) Requirements
