Responsibilities
Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices, guiding customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
Serve as the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving office growth objectives for three tax offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required.
Start with a flexible part-time schedule in the fall to prepare for tax season; transition to full-time January–April with evening and weekend hours as needed. This role is in-person (not remote).
Lead daily team meetings, create associate work schedules across all offices, ensure accurate timekeeping, and manage labor across offices.
Travel between offices as required.
Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
What you'll bring to the team
Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders.
Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and community involvement.
Assist DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
Conduct timely performance reviews and coordinate with the Associate Relations Center to resolve issues and address performance concerns.
Build an engaging team environment across all offices through training and coaching, recognizing outstanding contributions.
Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
Create associate work schedules and manage timekeeping and labor for associates in all offices.
Your Expertise
People management experience with a proven ability to grow and develop associates.
Demonstrated aptitude for growth plan execution and leading toward a growth culture.
Strong decision-making and judgment skills; able to perform in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset.
Computer proficiency with MS Office.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
