The Embedded Delivery Manager at Collins Aerospace Rockford is responsible for leading the delivery of embedded software and controls programs. This role focuses on leading the cross functional teams to execute the embedded programs. The engagement Manager roles combines strategic leadership, customer engagement and program management. Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with customer Serve as primary customer and stakeholder interface for program updates, risks, and escalations Support new business capture, proposals and Engineering change proposals Identify growth opportunities and develop strategies for customer alignments Ensure Program meets Scope, Schedule, cost and quality commitments Hands on experience in Requirements → Design → Coding → integration → verification → certification Experience in power generation, power distribution, and actuation/ FMS / display system is added advantage Ensure compliance with DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754, and applicable FAA/EASA standards Partner with systems, hardware, and test teams to align software delivery with overall system development Support software certification activities, including audits, reviews, and documentation Promote continuous improvement in embedded delivery efficiency, quality, and compliance readiness Skills & Competencies
Strong background in embedded software delivery for aerospace or safety-critical domains Understanding of power systems, electric systems, or actuation is highly desirable In-depth knowledge of aerospace certification standards (DO-178C, DO-254) Ability to lead cross-functional technical teams in a matrixed organization Strong customer engagement and program management skills Proficiency in JIRA, MS Project or equivalent tools Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace, or related field 12–15 years of experience in embedded systems/software, with at least 3–5 years in delivery/program management roles Prior experience delivering certified aerospace embedded systems (preferably in power or controls domain) PMP, SAFe, or Agile certifications are a plus US Citizenship required due to ITAR Restrictions Demonstrated success in leading embedded delivery in safety-critical aerospace programs Seniority level
