Asset Management - Transportation Investment Specialist - Executive Director job at JPMorgan Chase & Co.. New York, NY. The Alternatives Global Transportation team seeks an Investment Specialist to join our private markets strategies. Our alternative strategies aim to achieve specific client outcomes and deliver uncorrelated returns to traditional asset classes. Customized portfolios can be tailored to individual client needs, with strategies across the alternative investment spectrum including real estate, private equity and credit, infrastructure, transportation, liquid alternatives and hedge funds. Job summary As an Investment Specialist in Global Transportation, you will actively engage in maintaining and developing relationships between the investment team, the Client and Consulting Advisor teams. You will represent Global Transportation on business matters, including marketing, product development and sales/retention strategy. You should share our commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience and conducting business in an ethical and compliant manner. Job Responsibilities The Investment Specialist should know the portfolios they represent as well as a Portfolio Manager (PM) and be fully integrated with the investment team to allow the PM to focus time on investing. Work in close partnership with PMs on business strategy, product strategy and distribution strategy. Accountable for client and RFP materials and internal marketing tools; promote the strategies internally and externally. Engage with sales teams to jointly develop distribution strategy, targets and tactical plans. Partner with the Client Advisors and, where appropriate, the consultant sales team, to pitch for new business and represent the strategies at conferences, road shows, seminars and training. Implement guidelines and coordinate with other teams to ensure smooth on-boarding for new wins. Conduct quarterly/annual account reviews and ensure clients have the information needed to be fully informed. Work closely with client advisors across channels to represent Global Transportation strategies and develop business globally. Establish credibility with both PMs and clients; the Investment Specialist is the primary point of contact on investment matters, including portfolio results and positioning. Required qualifications, capabilities and skills Demonstrated track record in developing business across a range of investor segments, including institutional and sovereign. Developed interpersonal, presentation and communication skills; ability to interact with clients and colleagues at all levels. Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, financial, time management and organizational skills; attention to detail and interest in transportation assets (maritime, energy logistics, aviation, railcar, container leasing, vehicle fleets, etc.) are beneficial. Degree in Finance, Economics, or related subjects. 50-75% travel required. Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones. Strong multi-tasking, time management and problem-solving skills. Previous experience working with transportation/open-end funds is beneficial. Series 7 and 63 licenses helpful, but not required. Knowledge of or experience in the Transportation sector is preferred. Prior military service (ex-veterans) with Naval experience are welcome to apply. ACFA or Master’s Degree in Business Administration would be additive. About Us
