Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the incumbent ensures equipment, infrastructure, and building systems are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulations. The role combines operational leadership with strategic planning to support production or organizational goals. Organizes, supervises, and manages the repair and preventative maintenance activities of the Power Plant Operators at all on-site and off-site locations to ensure zero to minimal down time. High school diploma or technical certificate. State of CT S1 of OE2 License Preferred. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience with commercial/industrial steam, boiler, and refrigeration systems. Minimum of five (5) years Maintenance Management experience. Must have the ability to manage cross functional teams as directed. Able to prioritize tasks/jobs and meet deadlines. Able to read, understand and interpret schematics, plans, diagrams, and drawings. Proficient with department-specific computer programs and be able to read and write short memos. Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Possess excellent organizational skills to ensure accurate record maintenance and efficient job flow. EPA refrigerant certification required. Due to the nature of the business, must have the ability to maintain a flexible schedule which may include working days, nights, weekends and holidays as directed by business demands. Must possess a valid driver's license. Duties and Responsibilities

Facility Operations Management

Oversee the maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Manage the operation of building automation systems (BAS). Ensure energy efficiency and sustainable practices are implemented. Staff Leadership & Supervision

Lead, train, and evaluate a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and custodial staff. Create staffing schedules and assign responsibilities. This includes management of the daily compliance of HotSOS service orders. Budgeting & Cost Control

Develop and manage the facilities budget, including capital improvements and operational expenses. Review vendor contracts and control costs while maintaining quality standards. Regulatory Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, fire safety, building codes, and other local, state, and federal regulations. Implement and monitor safety programs and preventive maintenance schedules. Performs routine field inspections on-site and at several off-site locations. Project Management

Plan and execute facility upgrades, renovations, and infrastructure projects. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of work. Asset & Inventory Management

Maintain records of equipment, warranties, service agreements, and maintenance logs. Oversee procurement and inventory of supplies and replacement parts. Emergency Preparedness

Immediately available to report to the facility in the event of a facilities. By example such emergencies may include, but not be limited to fires, power or equipment failures, floods, lighting, earthquake, or other disasters of similar nature and magnitude. Develop and maintain emergency response plans for power outages, equipment failures, and natural disasters. Ensure backup systems are in place and tested regularly. Education and Experience

High school diploma or technical certificate State of CT S1 of OE2 License Preferred Five (5) years of experience with commercial/industrial steam, boiler, and refrigeration systems. Five (5) years Maintenance Management experience. Must have the ability to manage cross functional teams as directed. Qualifications

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Must possess a valid driver's license. Physical Demands

Lengthy periods of standing and walking required. Must be able to occasionally climb ladders, crawl, or balance in cramped areas. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in a workshop/facilities area near or around various equipment, construction or rehab projects with some exposure to outdoor weather conditions as well. An office environment anticipated to a limited extent Work Environment
