Full Time About The Unit
PTCA (Angioplasty Recovery) is a 14-bed advanced cardiovascular interventional unit providing pre- and post-procedural care for acute cardiology patients, including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology (ablation, pacemaker insertions, ICD placement, TAVRs), Watchmans, and Mitraclips. Jewish Hospital, part of UofL Health, is an internationally renowned, high-tech tertiary referral center. It specializes in hand and microsurgery, heart and lung care, orthopedics, neuroscience, organ transplantation, and outpatient care. Notably, it performed the world’s first successful hand transplant and AbioCor implantable heart procedures. The hospital is recognized for advanced heart care procedures like VAD implantation and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. The UofL Health – Trager Transplant Center is among the few nationwide performing multiple organ transplants, including heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, and hand transplants, and includes specialized centers for pancreas disease, GI motility, and advanced heart failure programs. Job Summary
The Clinical Nurse Manager will oversee the nursing unit’s operations, including financial performance, service quality, clinical outcomes, quality improvement, employee satisfaction, and patient satisfaction. The manager will report directly to a Nursing Director. Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required) Master of Science in Nursing (preferred), with specialization or administration; other master’s degrees like business or healthcare administration will be considered. Experience
Internal candidates: At least 4 years in an acute care setting, preferably an academic medical center. External candidates: At least 5 years in an acute care setting, preferably an academic medical center. All candidates for Peace Hospital: At least 3 years in an acute care setting. All candidates for Frazier Rehab: 4 years in rehab and 2 years with pediatric patients. Prior management experience is preferred. Licensure
Active Kentucky RN license or compact license with privileges in Kentucky. Certification
Professional certification in a leadership or clinical specialty area (required). If not obtained at hire, it must be acquired within three years.
