3 East is a 28-bed post solid organ (lung, liver, kidney, pancreas) transplant intermediate care unit. This unit cares for patients pre- and post-transplant. The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) is a competent registered nurse delivering nursing care to patients of varying ages by utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice. The RN uses: Nursing Practice Competencies

to ensure safe, optimal patient and family-centered care outcomes; Leadership Competencies

to coordinate care and communicate effectively with the care team; Professional Profile Competencies

to develop professionally as a lifelong learner; Practice Outcomes Competencies

to evaluate care based on evidence, UofL Health quality models, and patient safety goals. The RN demonstrates competency caring for complex patients and participates in the care team to improve care quality. Area of focus: Intermediate Transplant Qualifications

Required Qualifications Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university #LI-DNI
