Pharmacists perform day-to-day responsibilities of drug distribution, computer drug and IV order processing, and therapeutic interventions as needed. They provide drug information and consultation to professional staff and patients, maintain patient profiles, participate in cardio-pulmonary emergencies, monitor drug therapy, and assist with drug compounding. The Staff Pharmacist directs technicians, performs inventory control, and precepts pharmacy residents, students, technicians, or interns as assigned by the supervisor. This position is a Direct Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy. Responsibilities

Direct technicians and oversee daily workflow in the inpatient pharmacy. Process drug orders (including IV orders) and ensure accuracy and safety in medication handling. Provide therapeutic interventions and drug information to patients and staff. Maintain patient profiles and participate in drug therapy monitoring. Attend cardio-pulmonary emergencies as needed. Precept pharmacy residents, students, technicians, or interns as assigned. Qualifications

Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of pharmacy as determined by the CA Board of Pharmacy. One year of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist or completion of PGY1 by time of hire. Current knowledge of drug references, Joint Commission requirements, and other regulatory standards. Demonstrated customer service skills appropriate to the job. Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Current BLS or ACLS upon hire. CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing. Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload and extract pertinent information for patient management. Conditions of Employment
