Job Description Summary
The Lead Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) Thermal Process Engineer is a key member of the technical team that helps current and future programs achieve program milestones and meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work both independently and with various teams to develop, mature, and implement thermal processes that support manufacturing of CMC components for aircraft engines and other aerospace applications. You will apply technical knowledge and expertise to support technology maturation and product development across our application portfolio and collaborate closely with materials, design, and supply‑chain teams to meet business and customer objectives. Key Responsibilities
Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology Serve as a technical specialist and provide consultation and guidance to product, material‑application, and design teams. Synthesize and clearly communicate results of research and development activities related to thermal processing; prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers. May provide support to business‑development activities. Process Development Prioritize and complete process‑engineering projects to achieve business objectives for technology and manufacturing process maturation and risk reduction (D/PFMEA). Develop subject‑matter expertise on process mechanisms and apply that learning to solve problems and protect intellectual property. Product Application Practise applied creativity to develop thermal processes that meet customer and product requirements. Maintain focus on practical application of processes to current and future program/product requirements. Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Ceramics, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy or another Engineering discipline from an accredited university or college. 3+ years’ experience in ceramics or composites manufacturing. 3+ years’ experience in an engineering role/position. U.S. citizenship status is required. Desired Characteristics
M.S. degree or Ph.D. preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems and lead projects. Effective team‑building and project‑management skills. Benefits
