Lead Thermal Process Engineer

The Lead Thermal Process Engineer is a key member of the technical team that helps current and future programs achieve program milestones and meet assigned objectives. In this role, you will work both independently and with various teams to develop, mature, and implement thermal processes that support manufacturing of Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) components for aircraft engines and other aerospace applications. Job Description
The Lead Thermal Process Engineer applies their technical knowledge to support product development and process readiness across our application portfolio. This role works both independently and with adjacent teams to develop, implement, and improve thermal processes – both conventional and novel – that support manufacturing of CMC components for aircraft engines and other aerospace applications. This position collaborates closely with materials, design, and supply chain teams to meet business and customer objectives. Key Responsibilities
Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology: serves as a technical specialist and has knowledge and skill set to provide consultation and guidance to product, material application, and design teams for area of responsibility; synthesizes and communicates results of research and development activities related to thermal processing; prepares and presents technical data to internal and external customers; may provide support to business development activities. Process Development: prioritizes and completes process engineering projects to achieve business objectives for technology and manufacturing process maturation and process risk reduction (D/PFMEA); develops subject-matter expertise on process mechanisms and applies that learning to solve problems and develop/protect intellectual property (IP). Product Application: practices applied creativity to develop thermal processes that meet customer and product requirements; maintains focus on practical application of process to current and novel future program/product requirements. Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years (ceramics/Composites) experience + minimum of 3 years (specific) experience). Desired Characteristics
M.S. degree or Ph.D. Familiar with pressure vessels, vacuum furnaces, and other thermal equipment Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems and lead projects Effective team building and project management skills Benefits and Additional Information
