Construction Senior Procurement Specialist
Role: Sr. Procurement Specialist
Location: New York, NY (West Street)
Type: Contract-to-Permanent
Type: Hybrid (typically 3 days/week in office)
Scope: Procurement for office interior fit out projects
Overview The Construction Senior Procurement Specialist leads procurement activities for office interior fit-out projects, coordinating with project managers, general contractors, architects, engineers, and FF&E vendors to execute the work strategy and ensure alignment with project timelines and budgets.
Required skills and experience
8+ years of construction procurement experience
Owners representative background
Day-to-days
Review project requirements and draft/review/finalize procurement strategy memos
Prepare and issue Requests for Information / Requests for Qualification / Requests for Proposal in client's Project Management Information System
Follow up with, and respond to vendors prior to releasing the RFP, during the bid period, and after bid submission, to answer questions up to the award
Evaluate bids based on completeness, competitiveness, compliance, quality expectations, cost, schedule, ESG, diversity, etc.
Stay knowledgeable of industry trends to determine appropriate pricing
Prepare analysis reports and recommendations
Engage with General Contractors, Architects, Engineers and FF&E vendors to execute the work strategy
Participate in successful and unsuccessful bidder calls
Participate in negotiation and evaluation of contracts
Prepare purchase orders, letter agreements, and contracts for all appointments (consultants / contractors / etc.), including reviews with client's legal counsel
Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and contractors
Conduct market research to identify new vendors and evaluate their capabilities
Collaborate with project managers to ensure procurement aligns with project timelines and budgets
Monitor and report on procurement performance metrics
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for procurement processes
