Join our team as a Senior Solar Systems Design Engineer and play a pivotal role in the engineering and design of cutting-edge solar and energy storage systems for commercial and industrial applications. This position offers the chance to work on complex and impactful projects, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies like Tesla Megapacks and advanced inverter systems. Core Responsibilities
Conduct site assessments and evaluate the feasibility of PV and energy storage systems. Analyze site-specific data including electrical, structural, and environmental factors. Develop comprehensive system designs including site plans, single-line diagrams, and interconnection packages. Utilize software tools such as PVSyst, Helioscope, HOMER, and SAM for system modeling and performance estimation. Ensure designs comply with NEC, CEC, UL, IEEE, and utility regulations. Collaborate with project managers, utilities, permitting authorities, and construction teams to ensure project success. Support the permitting, interconnection, and commissioning processes. Establish and improve internal CAD standards and oversee drafting workflows. Drive enhancements in design templates and engineering methodologies. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Over 5 years of experience in designing solar PV and energy storage systems. Expertise in AutoCAD, PVSyst, and developing one-line diagrams. Proficiency with DC/AC coupled systems and integrating energy storage solutions such as Tesla and Fluence. In-depth knowledge of NEC 690/705/706, UL 1741-SA, and IEEE 1547 standards. Experience with interconnection processes with utilities like PG&E, SCE, and SDG&E. Strong documentation and communication skills. EIT or NABCEP certification is advantageous. Experience in team leadership or mentoring is preferred. Benefits
