Overview
POSITION SPECIFICS The Agile Systems Engineering (ASE) Department in the Material Manufacturing and Sustainment Office (MMSO) at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting Engineering Project Manager who desires to support a broad range of projects encompassing many technical disciplines and project scopes. As an ASE Engineering Project Manager (EPM) you will work closely with Program Managers, Lead Systems Engineers, and Principal Investigators to help ensure timely execution of project management activities and to help ensure smooth project execution. You will assist in project planning and development of project management work products in collaboration with technical leads, and assist in creating and reviewing presentations and reports and ensuring a range of products and accommodations are in place to support project execution including coordinating large meetings and project reviews hosted at ARL. ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply. Responsibilities
Analyze program costs, schedules, and milestones to assess risk and manage changes to program deliverables. This includes regular reporting to ARL project leadership and external collaborators, including government sponsors.
Develop and manage technical and financial status reports and technical data package documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Additional responsibilities for higher level position: Utilize project management strategies to implement project requirements; collaborate with investigators to develop, execute, and update the project plan; monitor and facilitate technical project execution, milestones, and deliverables.
Facilitate communication between sponsors, investigators, resource managers, project engineers, and technical tradesmen; manage and track project schedule, resources, deliverables, and milestones; monitor technical project execution to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
Manage stakeholder project and product needs; coordinate with investigators to manage and adhere to sponsor requirements.
Facilitate task/project budgets, work breakdowns, rough order estimates, task prioritization, and integration plans with investigators and program managers; coordinate with investigators and financial teams to create project budget baseline; establish and update the project budget.
Provide relevant project data including cost and hours input to financial teams to create estimates; review project costs regularly to ensure accuracy in preparation for project close out.
Collaborate with financial and property inventory teams to review fabrication costs; ensure correct classification, work breakdowns, and coding in preparation for project close out.
Qualifications
Required skills/experience: General experience with Microsoft applications
Familiarity with Project Management fundamental concepts and their application to real-world projects
Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred skills/experience: Proficient in Microsoft Project and Visio
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Experience working with an FFRDC, UARC, or other Government Laboratory
Security Clearance Preferred Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher and may be subject to a government background investigation to upgrade clearance eligibility, if required.

Required Certifications: None Engineering Project Manager - Intermediate Professional: Bachelor’s Degree, 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $76,700.00 - $129,500.00. The proposed salary range may be impacted by geographic differential.
