We are seeking an MES Automation Engineer, responsible for development, maintenance, and support of the manufacturing execution system solution used within the digital plant manufacturing network to produce medicines. This includes successful delivery of projects, support, and continuous improvement focused on effectiveness and cost reductions in manufacturing operations. Responsibilities
Drive MES solution scope typically including software (recipe) components and library configuration, interfacing of MES with enterprise-wide applications and plant floor applications and benchtop instruments, reports for batch release, and any customization that supports digital manufacturing. Deliver simple to complex changes to MES applications or recipes built within the MES solution. Partner with business stakeholders in Manufacturing, Quality, and Process Engineering to understand business requirements and translate them to MES solutions. Assess the risk and impact of changes, patches, outages, or other events on the MES solution. Test MES recipes that interface to ERP, CMMS, Quality execution systems including LIMS, process control systems, and other digital solutions. Ensure compliance with data integrity and computer system validation requirements and regulations as part of MES systems, recipe build, and testing. Understand changes that impact the validated state of an application and underlying infrastructure. Adhere to, develop, and continuously improve the operation and maintenance procedures for process controls and manufacturing execution systems. Provide off-hours manufacturing support as a digital Subject Matter Expert (SME) as part of an on-call rotation (as needed per client project). BS/BA in engineering, computer science, IT, or equivalent technical discipline. Working knowledge of process automation, MES, and batch manufacturing industry standards (ISA 88 and 95). 1+ years of direct experience with MES or automation systems (SCADA, DCS, PAT, data historian) in regulated manufacturing industry. 3+ years engineering, troubleshooting, or solutions design experience with Emerson Syncade, Krber/Werum PASX, Siemens Opcenter Execution Pharma (Simatic EBR), POMS, Rockwell PharmaSuite, Tulip, or other Life Sciences MES systems.
