Trion, a division of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc, is seeking an
Engineering Manager
to lead a cross‑functional team in the development, improvement, and support of HVAC‑related products. The role requires a hands‑on leader with strong technical expertise, project management skills, and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
Lead and mentor a team of engineers across multiple disciplines.
Manage and prioritize multiple engineering projects, including New Product Development, Value Analysis, Performance Improvement, and Sustaining Engineering.
Develop and maintain project timelines, resource plans, and status reports using tools such as Gantt charts.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain.
Ensure compliance with third‑party testing standards (e.g., UL507, UL508A, UL710, UL867) and interface with agencies such as UL, ETL, and CSA.
Oversee the creation and review of engineering documentation including drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
Support manufacturing processes and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Mapics) to ensure smooth product transitions and updates.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in product performance, cost, and manufacturability.
What We Look For
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or Physics from an accredited four‑year college or university.
10+ years of related technical experience, including leadership in an engineering environment.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with a cross‑functional team of engineers, including timeline generation, reporting, and presenting.
Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and ERP systems (e.g., Mapics).
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to interpret technical documents and present information clearly to stakeholders.
Preferred
Experience with ANSYS CFD/FEA, VBA programming, DFMA, FMEA, and phase‑gate project development.
Knowledge and experience with HVAC systems, including filters & filtration equipment, humidification equipment, fans & blowers, and control systems.
Familiarity with sheet metal forming, electrical wiring schematics, air movement principles, and fan/blower laws.
Experience working with third‑party testing agencies, such as UL, ETL, & CSA – specific standards may include UL507, UL508A, UL710, & UL867.
