ASME Certified Mechanical Design Engineer

ASME Certified Mechanical Design Engineer . This is a

direct hire role

from day one, based in Randolph, MA. Responsibilities: Design and perform calculations for ASME code stamped products. Responsible for designing, calculating, and analyzing industrial equipment. Select mechanical components such as seals, bearings, motors, and pumps. Prepare code calculations and design reports. Create fabrication, machining, and customer drawings. Develop equipment and piping layouts. Generate general arrangement and assembly drawings. Develop installation, operation, and maintenance manuals. Design fixtures and tooling for large-scale manufacturing. Coordinate with cross-functional departments. Review or develop technical specifications for projects and components. Perform finite element analyses (structural, thermal) and document findings. Qualifications: Experience with ASME BPVC, Section VII, Division I, especially in pressure vessels/rotating equipment. BSc in Mechanical Engineering and at least three years of relevant experience. Experience in industrial machine design and dynamic/rotating equipment. Familiarity with ASME Section VIII Division 1 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Exposure to pressure and thermal stress analysis. Strong communication skills (written, verbal, graphical). Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of manufacturing processes like metal fabrication, welding, machining. Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar PLM systems. Ability to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost reduction. Familiarity with engineering processes, change procedures, and document control. Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate, with an intent to pursue PE license. Proficiency with ERP modules related to engineering and manufacturing.
