Primary Responsibilities The candidate filling this position will be located at Leidos main campus in Huntsville, AL and will serve as a reporting manager for a team of 6-8 technical staff including computer and software engineers. Provide leadership and technical direction to maintain and expand software/firmware codebases for radar / electronic warfare sensor systems, including real-time system architectures and signal processing algorithms. Lead efforts to grow and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, developing junior engineers into strong technical contributors and future leaders. Ensure effective and efficient execution of new and existing programs supporting a wide range of Department of Defense customers and contractors. Cultivate and develop existing customer relationships while pursuing opportunities to expand the customer base. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred) from an ABET-accredited institution with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience, or PhD with 2-6 years of experience. Demonstrated experience leading a team of technical staff to develop and integrate radar / electronic warfare sensor technology. Strong technical background in RF and EW sensor technologies, including real-time software, high-speed networking/storage, and radar signal processing algorithms. Strong knowledge of C++ and object-oriented software design principles. Experience defining and enforcing engineering best practices (configuration management, coding standards, code reviews, testability, design for reusability). Ability to identify business development opportunities and contribute to proposals. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience in recruitment and interviewing technical staff. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Final Secret clearance and to obtain/maintain a Final Top Secret clearance. Residence in the North Alabama area or willingness to relocate to Huntsville – North Alabama. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with MATLAB, CUDA, and/or VHDL is a plus. Radar Subject Matter Expert and a master’s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering). Experience serving as a reporting manager for technical staff, including performance and career development mentoring.
