Overview
Fire Control Technicians - Systems Engineer positions. SEACORP has immediate full-time openings for recently separated Navy Fire Control Technicians who will provide support as Systems Engineers in Newport, RI. In these positions, candidates will provide system design, integration and test, and operational support for 3rd Party Targeting, BYG-1 Combat Control System, and the Tomahawk Weapon System on all submarine classes. The primary office location is Newport, Rhode Island supporting labs at NUWC Newport and may include travel to support events onboard submarines both dockside and underway, and at shore sites in different theatres. Tactical Solutions Responsibilities
Working with customer program leads to review system designs and provide recommendations for implementation based on operational experience Identify, investigate and analyze software and hardware failures to determine root-causes Provide lab test support evaluating new system capabilities and troubleshooting problems Identify temporary workarounds for problems while long term solutions are analyzed Identify operational risks associated with all reported failures Write clear and concise problem reports Attend meetings as applicable and provide necessary verbal communication Note:
An Active Secret Security Clearance is required on the date of hire. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, qualified candidates will have military experience with US Navy Submarine Combat Systems including completion of Naval Advanced "C" School in the technical field of experience. Experience:
6 years of related experience, specifically working with submarine combat systems. Global Command and Control System – Maritime (GCCS-M) and Radiant Valkyrie Lite (RVL) experience a plus. Citizenship/Clearance:
U.S. Citizenship required. Active Secret clearance. Travel:
Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year) Work Environment:
