Electrical Systems Engineer . Location:

req1670 SEACORP is currently seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Engineer with a solid background of Submarine Imaging Systems (AN/BVY-1(V) various) from an end-to-end perspective to join the Imaging team. This position will directly support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) division Newport with the National Maintenance Center and direct engineering support for the In-Service Engineering Agent.
Responsibilities
Integrate, test, optimize, and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and radio frequency (RF) hardware and software associated with Submarine Imaging Systems.
Design system modernization and capabilities expansions to meet emerging Navy needs. Perform analysis for and development of Engineering Change Instructions (ECIs) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
Perform acceptance testing and measurements on various electronic and RF components and assemblies to verify system compliance.
Troubleshoot and repair Imaging components via remote support from NUWCDIVNPT and/or on-site platform support.
Collect and assess technical data (such as RF data).
Develop and review drawing packages.
Coordinate with the engineering team to support upgrades to existing Submarine Imaging Systems to meet data requirements.
Coordinate and support technical data package development and delivery.
Develop and review test plans and test procedures.
Perform and/or support integration and environmental testing events.
Perform and/or support factory acceptance testing.
Develop program status reports such as technical assessments, technical recommendations, or technical information.
Position will require some overnight travel, estimated 10% in a given year.
Qualifications
Education:
A Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is recommended. In lieu of educational criteria, significant technical work experience such as active-duty military or prior work in this area is acceptable.
Experience:
Four to six years' experience in Optical, Electrical, Electronics or RF systems.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
Candidate must be familiar with general-purpose and RF laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, Volt/Ohm meters, power supplies, and signal generators. (Experience with the Keysight FieldFox handheld microwave analyzer is a plus).
Read and interpret technical documentation such as wiring diagrams, system schematics, technical manuals. Technical Writing skills are required.
Previous experience in operating and maintaining Imaging Systems such as ISIS, Type 8/18 Periscopes, Photonics Masts, etc. is highly desired.
Previous experience performing Submarine Imaging & EW (I&EW) System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT) and/or system groom & certification procedures is a plus.
Experience with Fiber Optic is a plus.
Experience with process improvement methods, practices, and procedures is a plus.
An Active Secret Clearance is required on the date of hire.
Experience in building customer relationships and communicating with integrated product teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interface with technical personnel, managers, and customers.
As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.
