Be among the first 25 applicants. Huitt-Zollars has a great opportunity for a full-time Construction Inspector in our Houston West office. The candidate will work collaboratively in a team environment and will serve as the project manager’s representative during construction. The position observes construction daily to determine if it is performed according to the contract documents, prepares daily reports, takes daily photos, observes testing of facilities, and serves as the liaison between the Contractor and the Owner.

Duties
Provide monitoring, oversight, and coordination of work performed by others to ensure that plans and specifications are being followed.
Inspectors need to have analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and technical skills.
Understand plans and blueprints, documents, manuals, and have basic math and computer skills.
Inspect work that occurs in interior and exterior spaces.
Prepare detailed daily reports that document all on-site work performed for a construction project on a given day.
Field inspectors should be independent and able to work without extensive supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Understand, follow, and enforce Huitt-Zollars's business processes.
Collaborate with others and lead or encourage teams to achieve success and camaraderie.
Understand and follow HZ QMS and Quality initiatives and ensure quality control measures on projects and daily operations.
Maintain current duties, responsibilities, knowledge, and technical skills.
Assist with administrative and project support tasks for the project team and office.
Complete assignments on time, within budget, and with high quality.
Proactively propose more effective ways to accomplish assignments.
Qualifications
High School Diploma; Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management.
Must pass HZ security clearance review.
3–5 years of construction inspection experience in roadway, earthwork, concrete, or other heavy civil construction projects preferred.
TxDOT Inspection experience preferred.
