Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanic
Smurfit Westrock – Minneapolis, MN
Full Time – $26.76/hr – $38.30/hr DOE
Shift: 2nd or 3rd shift; initial training on 1st shift for 2–3 weeks

Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment on a scheduled basis; inspect belts, gearboxes, chains, bearings, etc.
Troubleshoot low‑voltage circuits, analog devices, VFDs, and motor control circuitry to root cause failures.
Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and devices to determine faults and failures.
Perform regular repair and maintenance in non‑production areas including warehouse, design lab, building, and grounds.
Use CMMS system for work order implementation, recordkeeping of daily activities, and planned projects.
Qualifications
1–3 years of successful electrical troubleshooting and repair experience; able to operate small machinery (lathe, drill press, welding equipment).
Experience in mechanical automation system installation & troubleshooting.
Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3‑phase power, communication devices, industrial/electronic controls and power transmission systems.
Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Strong PLC troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability with practical mechanical & electrical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
Computer literate with Microsoft environment and excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a mature and professional manner.
Ability to work various shifts, overtime, days per week.
