A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to provide specialized support for K-12 students in a school setting, located in Waterbury, CT. This contract position is for the current school year (CSY) and involves serving 25-30 students with the assistance of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). The role requires working within a pediatric and educational framework, focusing on individual student needs without involvement in feeding programs or care of fragile students.
Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive speech and language therapy services to K-12 students, addressing a range of communication disorders. Collaborate closely with an SLPA to optimize therapy outcomes for 25-30 students. Support one student with a cochlear implant, providing tailored therapy and monitoring progress. Follow established protocols to maintain high standards of care and documentation. Apply best practices in pediatric speech-language pathology within the educational environment. Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with educators and families to ensure consistent student support.
Qualifications And Experience
Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology. Experience in healthcare and pediatric SLP services, particularly in school settings. Ability to work full-time during the school year. Prior experience with cochlear implant students preferred. Familiarity with therapy protocols excluding feeding or fragile student care. No Clinical Fellowship (CF) candidates or SLPA-only applicants considered at this time. Will consider candidates flexible with therapy approaches, including potential for using VBD techniques.
