This contract position spans the current school year (CSY) and provides the chance to contribute in dynamic magnet schools that emphasize both academic and arts/STEM curricula.

Two Distinct Positions Are Open

Position #1 K-8 Magnet School (Hamden Area):

Serves approximately 550 students primarily in K-8 grades. Works within a resource model where students spend most of their time in general education. Disability profiles include Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and ADHD. Supports an arts-integrated curriculum offering two arts periods daily alongside core academics. Collaborates with a part-time SLP focused on kindergarten and first grade.

Position #2 STEAM Magnet School (Waterbury Area):

Supports students from 6th through 10th grade. Provides in-class support in a resource model environment. Works with students who have Learning Disabilities, ASD, and ADHD. Engages with an interdisciplinary STEM and arts curriculum.

Qualifications

Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology. Experience in pediatric healthcare and school settings. Knowledge of the resource model for special education. Ability to support students with diverse communicative and developmental needs. Collaborative communication skills with educators and support staff.

Responsibilities

Conduct speech and language assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. Deliver therapy services aligned with students academic and social needs. Monitor progress and document outcomes in compliance with school policies. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and maintain effective communication with families and educators.
