Job Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
Experienced and highly motivated with a passion for optimizing automotive production processes. Seeking a skilled individual to join our Engineering Team, focusing on assembly methods, molding, coating, and tooling within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
General Responsibilities
This role involves driving manufacturing excellence, process optimization, and ensuring safe, efficient production environment.
Lead and participate in problem solving initiatives Drive labor efficiencies in the plant through labor reduction, either via standardized work, or automation Drive efficiencies through waste identification and reduction Optimize processes through statistical data analysis Maintain all critical process documentation such as Job Instructions or Standard Operating Procedures, PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, etc. Implement RPN reductions and error proofing improvements onto the shop floor Participate in corrective actions for Customer complaints Support manufacturing layout, equipment changes, and line consolidations using CAD tools Implementation of product changes onto the manufacturing floor Assist with VA/VE activity (Product and Process Savings) Assist with samples/validation builds for product changes Ensure equipment effectiveness for meeting throughput targets Assist in dimensional verification of components and finished product Administer appropriate corrective actions to improve ergonomics on the production floor Occasional need to work off shifts and weekends as necessary to support initiatives
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or related field required Master’s Degree in Mechatronics, Engineering, or related field a plus Minimum of 5+ years of progressive engineering and manufacturing experience in the Automotive and/or Automotive Supply Base sector focusing on Assembly Methods, Molding, Coating, and Tooling Experience with lighting, particularly automotive lighting, is a plus

Successful candidates will possess a blend of advanced technical skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the leadership qualities necessary for a senior role.
Technical Skills
In-depth experience, including leading methodical problem solving via any of the defined best practice methods (Shainin Red X, Six Sigma, 8D, A3, etc.) Experience in identifying and implementing automation solutions to reduce direct labor Demonstrated ability to lead and implement Lean initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S principles, and waste reduction (Muda, Mura, Muri) projects Statistical analysis experience, particularly with conducting Design of Experiments (DOE) and utilizing Minitab Experience in assembly line work balance charts, standard work operating procedures (SOPs), PFMEA, PFD, VSM, and Control Plans Design and implementation of Error Proofing solutions Knowledge of Customer Specific requirements (TS16949/ISO9000/IS014001/OHSMS and industry standards Experience with Ergonomics and implementing ergonomic improvements on manufacturing assembly stations Experience with 3D CAD and 2d AutoCAD Hands on experience with equipment, working side by side with Process and Maintenance Technicians
