We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to support the development and testing of Tesla's innovative actuators within the Actuator Design Team. This role involves collaborating with engineers to test, validate, and improve product performance across all consumer products, ensuring reliability and driving innovation. Key Responsibilities include: Conduct visual and functional inspections of actuators and parts to identify defects and areas for improvement. Install actuators on dynamometers and analyze prototypes to validate design assumptions. Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and protocols in collaboration with test engineers. Communicate findings and technical issues effectively with cross-functional teams. Maintain detailed documentation of test results and inspection findings. Ensure safety and organization in the lab, managing inventory and equipment. Design and modify test fixtures and equipment as needed. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies. Support lab expansion and testing activities, possibly requiring travel to Tesla facilities. Qualifications: Practical experience in a similar engineering role, with a solid foundation in engineering principles. Proficiency in mechanical fabrication and experience with hand and power tools. Ability to disassemble and reassemble electromechanical systems independently. Familiarity with electronics lab tools such as multimeters, data acquisition systems, and power supplies. Experience with wiring harness design, soldering, and following wiring diagrams. Strong understanding of physics and engineering fundamentals. Excellent documentation and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with LabVIEW, Python, or similar software is a plus. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks in a fast-paced lab environment.
