Overview
AnaVation is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to join an exciting work program. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products by designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans to ensure software quality, function, and performance. The candidate will interface directly with data architects and software developers to develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and detailed test cases to validate software functionality against requirements. This position is mostly (four to five days/week) on-site in Lorton, VA. This position requires an active Top-Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI access with a CI polygraph. Responsibilities
Create test cases and automation scripts. Identify and report software defects; collaborate with developers to resolve issues. Provide feedback to improve product quality and the development process. Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and detailed test cases to validate software functionality against requirements. Perform functional, interface, mobile device, regression, system, and user acceptance testing. Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, requirements traceability matrices, and test strategies based on functional and test requirements. Work with manual and automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG); programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, C++). Utilize bug tracking and reporting tools (e.g., Jira, ALM, TFS) and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (standups, backlog refinement, retrospectives, sprint planning, product demonstrations). Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Five years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance and software testing, including Agile methodologies. Experience with functional, interface, mobile device, regression, system, and user acceptance testing. Experience developing and executing test cases, test plans, test scripts, requirements traceability matrices, and test strategies. Experience with manual and automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG). Experience in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, C++). Experience in bug tracking and reporting using Jira, ALM, or TFS. Experience in requirement analysis, use cases, and user stories. Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment (standups, backlog refinement, retrospectives, sprint planning, product demonstrations). Knowledge of performance and security testing methodologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills; excellent written and verbal communication. Preferred qualifications: digital forensic domain background; experience handling complex and conflicting customer requirements; knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks; experience with CI/CD toolchains (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI); experience with Git versioning; experience in 508 compliance.
