Job Summary

This position will work collaboratively with and report directly to the Associate Director – Engagement, Personnel Development, and Camps. Primary duties are to develop, oversee, and administer all aspects of a summer recreation-based day camp for youth. Must stay abreast of local, regional, and national trends in youth camps. Enhance RecWell's onboarding, offboarding, and interview processes to create a smooth and positive employee experience. Responsible for creating resources like standardized rubrics, and engaging training programs to create a culture of continuous learning within the team. Participate in budget allocation and program outreach efforts. Some evening and weekend work is required. What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in areas such as recreation, sport management, facility management, or related fields. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in camp management, facility/event management, operations, staff supervision. Can consider direct graduate experience. Must be American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certified or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire. Must show ability to establish long- and short-term operational and strategic goals consistent with the university and division's mission. Ability to work collaboratively with administrative, clerical, service, and student staff. Must show ability to build, develop, and cultivate relationships across campus with a variety of constituents. Demonstrated ability to plan and implement employee training sessions and supervise a large student workforce. A successful candidate will be self-motivated, energetic, service-minded and adept at solving problems. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituents. Must possess effective communication (written/oral) as well as interpersonal skills. Proficient with computer software (word processing, spreadsheet, electronic communication, etc.). What Is Helpful
