Overview
Student Affairs Administrator, Lead — Botany and Plant Pathology Department at Purdue University. Provide leadership and coordination for all of University Residences in adjudicating student conduct. Liaisons with campus partners in Purdue Dining & Culinary, the Office of the Dean of Students, Office for Civil Rights, Office for Student Rights and Responsibilities, Office of Legal Counsel, Purdue University Police Department, and Student Legal Services on the Maxient software system used to protect, record, and document data needed for compliance with federal and state laws. Serve as the content matter expert for the unit in the areas of Clery compliance, conduct software management (lead administrator working with Maxient corporate office), and due process related to student conduct. Lead innovative teams, enhance staff/student participation, and provide clear and timely communication related to complex conduct issues. Routinely review and coach other professional staff on their approach and outcomes related to student conduct. Foster a living environment supportive of the educational mission.
Responsibilities Provide leadership and coordination for all of University Residences in adjudicating student conduct. Lead teams, enhance staff and student participation, communicate clearly about complex conduct issues, and coach staff on their approaches and outcomes. Foster a living environment that supports the educational mission.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor's degree in higher education, human resources, management, counseling, social work, or related field.
6 years of experience in conduct, student advocacy, student support, case management, or related field.
Ability to assess program effectiveness.
Effective rapport building and strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in analyzing and resolving confidential and sensitive situations with minimal supervision.
Evidence of strong organizational and time management skills and ability to complete multiple tasks in a busy environment.
Ability to grasp knowledge of policies and procedures related to different aspects of student services.
Sensitivity to cultural, political, and geographical differences, with the ability to work well with a diverse student body.
Ability to discern appropriate level of communication with multiple audiences and maintain confidentiality around complex and sensitive issues to be in compliance with applicable ADA, FERPA, and other guidelines.
Knowledge of college-student development issues and a commitment to student service with an interest in staying current with research in academic and student affairs.
Ability to analyze and report on compiled data.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Flexibility in work assignments and work hours to include some evenings/weekends.
