Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager – Choice Hotels Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity on the Strategic Sourcing Team. The Strategic Sourcing Team leads strategic sourcing initiatives for indirect spend, focusing on cost savings, supplier relationships, and procurement process optimization while maintaining compliance with Choice purchasing policies. The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager assists with daily tasks related to strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and category management. Your responsibilities Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies within Choice corporate functional teams to increase productivity, identify cost savings opportunities, and optimize company-wide spend. Contracting and Procurement Governance: Draft, review, and negotiate contract agreements (MSAs, SOWs, order forms) ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Spend Analysis: Conduct detailed spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and support budgeting and planning processes. Category Management: Develop and implement collaborative category management plans, provide senior management with visibility on risks, total cost of ownership, and measurable deliverables; ensure contracts enable effective management through KPIs, SLAs, benchmarking, and negotiations. Vendor Negotiations: Develop and execute vendor negotiation strategies, conduct financial analyses, lead sourcing activities (RFx, competitive bids, contract drafting, risk assessments), and manage supplier relationships and performance. Process Optimization: Improve internal processes, workflows, and interfaces to enhance productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness (savings, cycle time, spend leverage). Leadership & Mentorship: Provide indirect leadership and mentorship to junior team members to foster continuous improvement and development. Your experience, skills & competencies Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) preferred but not required. Minimum 7–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management with a track record in a senior role. Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel). Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Your team This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Strategic Sourcing. You will have 2 peer teammates and collaborate with cross-functional departments regularly. Your work location Based in the North Bethesda, MD headquarters. The campus is less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, near the North Bethesda Metro Station with easy access to I-270 and free parking. Currently, associates at corporate headquarters operate in a hybrid environment: 4 days in the office and 1 day telework. Flexibility is encouraged, with leadership aligning on expectations for individual needs. Salary range The salary range for this position is $129,723 – $150,000 annually. This role is eligible for an annual bonus under Choice’s Management Incentive Plan (MIP). The posted pay range is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay; actual pay may be higher or lower and is based on factors including education, experience, certifications, performance, location, and business needs.
